The Banque Alimentaire des Bouches-du-Rhône is a non-profit organization committed to fighting poverty and food waste. It is part of the French Federation of Food Banks, the country’s leading food aid network.
Thanks to the involvement of 164 volunteers and 21 employees, it collects food from agricultural and industrial producers, supermarkets and retail chains, citizens during solidarity drives, as well as donations from the French government and the European Union.
These food supplies are then fully redistributed to partner associations and Municipal Social Action Centres (CCAS) in order to support more than 100,000 people facing hardship in the department.
